Uh-ho. The upcoming KBS melodrama Full Sun (or Beyond The Clouds) is going to air two back to back episodes on its premiere day which is on February 17. Here I am planning out my drama time-table to accommodate as many shows as I can and what do I get: one more episode to add to it. Anyway, I can understand the reason behind this strategy by the network. Full Sun will be facing strong contenders on its Monday-Tuesday slot with sageuk Empress Ki garnering high ratings and the other melo Warm Words having the second place. The predecessor Prime Minister And I faced disappointing rating numbers and so this move looks appropriate with the drama’s point of view. Last time I remember the same thing was done by That Winter The Wind Blows.

The official posters are out and they are not hugely exciting or innovative and fall in the typical melodramatic category with leads having full emotional expressions filled with sadness or tears or seriousness. The character stills for our hero Yoon Kye Sang show him with flowers as well as gun, clearly depicting his miserable life. He stars as the son of a con man who wants to have a career in civil services. But his dream of living an honest life shatters when he accidentally kills a man (Song Jong Ho) and then becomes a con man himself after coming out of prison. He meets and falls in love with Han Ji Hye‘s character who was actually the fiancรฉe of the man he killed. The background set-up for Full Sun is related to jewels with our heroine being the heiress to a jewelry brand while our hero starts working with a ring of jewel smugglers. Despite the ‘been there done that’ premise, I’m actually interested in the drama which looks good as far as the trailers are concerned: acting as well as quality wise. The supporting actors include Jo Jin Woong, Kim Yoo Ri and Son Ho Joon.
