You’re Beautiful is one of my all time favorite dramas and it always makes me happy whenever I watch it. And there is no denying the fact that Jang Geun Suk is one of the major attraction and strength of the show. I’m not his fan, but I like him a lot and he superbly performed his role, making Hwang Tae Kyung a memorable character. Unfortunately, nothing of his works after that have made me interested. Be it the rom-com Mary Stayed Out All Night (I’ve heard it’s really boring) or the melodrama Love Rain, which was his last drama. And now, he is returning to small screen with upcoming drama Pretty Man, which is the adaptation of a comic book. The name itself sounds so cheesy and devoid of any innovative shades. Anyways, he will star as the prettiest man in this world, who sets out to find love and his lost family. He concludes that this true love will be found among the ten of the top 1% women in the nation. Intriguing, I must say.
Pretty Man will be written by Yoo Young Ah, who also wrote the blockbuster movie Miracle in Cell No.7, which was also critically praised. That makes this project interesting and provides room for depth. I have mostly liked all dramas inspired from comics like Playful Kiss (LOVE it!!), Boys Before Flowers and Goong, to name a few. This show will also be produced by the same team that made Goong and Boys Before Flowers, so basically the record is quite good in this field. Pretty Man is looking for an air date in the later months of 2013 after the final casting is done. Start your speculations about the female lead now!! As for me, I hope that this show will be something good and Jang Geun Suk will shine again because I know he can be awesome. But I read some off-putting portions about the main story at one of the sites, so let’s see how this shapes up, but I’ll be optimistic about it.
