A few days back, it was reported that Kim Nam Gil (Bad Guy) is positively considering the leading role in the revenge melodrama Shark. And now, it has been confirmed that he has signed on his next project as this drama, which is the third in the revenge franchise that includes Resurrection and Devil as the other shows. These series are not linked story wise; they only have the similar basic plot theme and that is retaliation. I am not too excited for this casting as I think he played the similar role in Bad Guy, his last drama before military enlistment. But I guess there must be many good points to take this role. Of course, the previous shows have garnered huge praise and fan following, that clearly increases the expectations with Shark.
Son Ye Jin has already been cast as the female lead. Kim Nam Gil will play the role of a man Han Yi Soo, who is determined to avenge the death of his father caused by Son Ye Jin’s family. He changes his face in order to fulfill his mission and falls in love with the daughter. Story is your typical melo one, but of course if the treatment is good; one can get an interesting show. Son Ye Jin plays Jo Hae Woo, the heiress of a hotel group, who gives up the position to be a prosecutor.
Shark will mark three years since Kim Nam Gil’s last drama. The same goes for Son Ye Jin as well, who also did her last Personal Taste in 2010. They sure are an A-list pair and we can definitely hope for brilliance here. Shark will premiere on KBS in May.
